Selling your app: a 10-point preparation checklist

Buyers pay premiums for de-risked deals. Before listing, gather 6–12 months of revenue reports, document every third-party service the app depends on, and make sure the developer accounts are transferable.

Clean up the codebase: a project that builds from a fresh checkout with one command is dramatically easier to hand over. Include a short technical handbook — architecture, deployment, release process.

Stabilize metrics before the sale. A spike from a one-off feature or a paid campaign right before listing looks suspicious; a flat or gently growing 6-month trend builds trust.

Decide what's included: source code, trademark, domain, social accounts, content pipeline. Ambiguity kills deals late in the process — list everything up front.
