How AppExchange holds the money, the code and the accounts until both sides are safe.
Who is the guarantor?
The guarantor is the AppExchange deal team — a neutral third party that stands between the buyer and the seller for the entire transfer. We are not the seller, not the buyer, and we do not release funds or assets until every step of the deal is verified.
How escrow works
1. Deal opened
Once an offer is accepted, we open a dedicated escrow deal and issue instructions to both sides. Terms, timeline and deliverables are locked in writing.
2. Buyer funds escrow
The buyer transfers the agreed amount to our escrow account. The seller sees the funds are secured before touching a single asset.
3. Assets transferred
Source code, developer accounts, store listings, ad-network accounts, domains and analytics are handed over under our supervision. We verify each item.
4. Inspection window
The buyer has a fixed inspection window to confirm everything works as described. Any disputes are mediated by our team using the original listing and evidence on file.
5. Funds released
When the buyer signs off, we release funds to the seller minus our brokerage fee. Both sides receive a signed transfer record for their books.
Why it is safe
Neutral third party
We have no incentive to favour either side — our job is to close the deal cleanly, not to sell you something.
Money held, not sent
The seller never sees the buyer's money until the assets are verified. The buyer never sends money directly to an unknown seller.
Verified identities
Both parties are KYC-checked before the deal opens. No anonymous cash-outs, no stolen apps.
Written record
Every step is documented — offer, acceptance, transfer log, inspection sign-off. If anything is contested later, we have the evidence.
Reversible until sign-off
If the buyer finds a material misrepresentation during inspection, the deal is unwound and funds returned.
